Ride Bangor

The Dunbabin family have farmed Bangor since the  early 1800’s and Tasmanian ebike Adventures has exclusively been riding guests on Bangor since 2016.

Exploring Bangor is a unique opportunity enabling guests to have private access to ride the sense of history magically present in this stunning wild landscape.

A day spent on Bangor explores the cultural stories of first contact between Tasmanian Aboriginal People and European maritime explorers. The historically significant and story rich landscape is amplified by an experience where guests having the property to themselves! We are able to drop in on the site where First Nation People observed Abel Tasman’s expedition make landfall in 1642 and the beaches and stories that hold records of this spectacular pocket of Tasmania as it became chartered by French and English and Tasmanian voyagers across the following 300 years.

It’s as if we ride back in time across a natural wild coastline that people rarely access. Bangor is the adventure for those explorers who seek to ride and ramble undisturbed along the shores of a Tasmanian wilderness.

Protected by forested headlands, sheltered bays and sapphire waters, there is plenty of temptation for a summer swim to refresh your ride or  stand sentinel atop the whalers lookout  to spy for migrating Leviathan!

At the Bangor coast, standing atop the 150 meter sea cliffs on Cape Frederick Hendrick we overlook where Abel Tasman laid anchor in 1642, followed a century later by the French expeditions of Marion du Fresne  and Nicholas Baudin. Your adventure explores the tastes of Tasmania’s world class local produce served bicycle picnic style along the ride and  Bangor’s award winning cool climate wines or Tasmanian craft beers to reward your efforts at the end of the day.

You may choose to reward yourself  with a Jimmy’s Hill Pinot and late lunch back at the award winning Bangor Vineyard Shed, picnic by the beach with sumptuous delicacies lovingly crafted by local boutique producers, or max out the day sharing a gourmet picnic and 25 km of coastline while the sun stretches into the afternoon. The choice is yours and we can design it together.
